Orange Academy is Africa’s first practical school of brand experience and storytelling. We discover, develop, and deploy future storytellers, strategists, and makers with the skills, confidence, and real-world exposure to thrive in today’s creative industry. It does sound cheesy, but we’re not a school. We’re a mindset, a philosophy, and an idea; that we are all born to create.

Orange Academy is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, and operates globally. Our collaborators and faculty work across Europe, the US, and the UK, and many of our programs are delivered online.

Our programs welcome individuals from all disciplines: new graduates, seasoned professionals, and creators alike. They are united by a desire to create something memorable.
Alumni have gone on to build impactful careers as copywriters, content creators, chief storytellers, designers, entrepreneurs, marketing directors, creative directors, social entrepreneurs, and independent artists, all deploying their creativity to make a difference.

Orange Academy isn’t a degree-granting university, but we’re a registered nonprofit in Nigeria authorized to deliver professional training. Graduates receive an Orange Academy certificate (your “Orange Mind” diploma), and our programs are recognized by top creative agencies, universities, and employers worldwide.

Orange Academy was founded by Dr. Kehinde (Kenny) Bademosi while he was serving as Creative Director at Draft FCB in Lagos, Nigeria.
It was the dawn of mobile telephones and the rise of social media, an era when advertising was about to change forever, as people gained more direct access to their audiences.
Sitting through countless job interviews and reviewing hundreds of résumés at his ad agency, Kehinde noticed a pattern: the advertising industry was stuck in old ways, overlooking brilliant minds simply because they didn’t fit traditional molds.
He believed it was time for a change. New kinds of talent, new ways of thinking, and new lived experiences needed to be recognised and nurtured. Anticipating a more tech-driven world, Kehinde wrote a manifesto titled "The New School of Thot." In it, he argued for a new approach to advertising—storytelling. This is called THIS ONE THING.
That vision gave birth to Orange Academy. Not as a typical school, but as a space where storytelling meets strategy, and where people from all walks of life can learn to move culture, shape brands, and spark change.

HIC is Orange Academy’s global storytelling lab, transforming lived experiences about health and the body into practical insights for health messaging stakeholders.
We host phone-free, community-led story circles and synthesize themes into briefs and prototypes for real projects. It’s not a focus group—no scripts, people speak for themselves. Join or host a circle

Branding, Storytelling and Strategy

Integrated Brand Experience, IBX, is Orange’s signature curriculum. You learn how to create a powerful story for your brand or cause, and then weave that story into all your activities - from your logo to your events, and even how you send your email.

As humans, we have a unique ability to tell stories. This is one of the things that sets us apart from animals. We don't just go through experiences. We store them in our memories using stories. We retrieve them through stories and recreate them through stories. If you want to connect with your audience meaningfully, try stepping into the storytelling arena and meeting people where they are.

Disney - there’s a child in all of us who learns through play. The Disney brand is built around this powerful human truth and it shows even in how they hire their staff. For example, Disney employees aren't called theme park workers – they're called “Cast Members.” Everyone is on stage. The IBX curriculum takes you through the stages of creating such magic.
